TRABUCO CANYON LITTLE LEAGUE

League History

Trabuco Canyon Little League was formed
in 1994 and played its first games in 1995. The League was
created due to continued and projected growth of Rancho
Santa Margarita and the Trabuco Canyon Communities.
The League started with a little over 500 players and has
continued to grow to over 900 players for the 2002 season.
Trabuco Canyon Little League offers the opportunity
for children 6 to 18 to play baseball.

Our boundaries were changed effective the 2003 season to include
only Coto de Caza and Wagon Wheel.

In the first two years play was limited to
several school sites and the two main fields inside the gates
of Coto de Caza. In 1996 ground was broken on one of
the most ambitious field development programs ever undertaken
in Orange County. The goal was clear, provide a playing
facility that would support the needs of Trabuco Canyon
Little League, Rancho Trabuco Softball
(Formerly Bobby
Sox) and A. Y. S. O. Region 630. On March 1, 1997,
Opening Day ceremonies were held at the four newly created
baseball fields. A. Y. S. O. started using the facility
in August of 1997 and Rancho Trabuco Softball in April
of 1998.

While they prefer to remain somewhat anonymous
a group named "The Consolidated Youth Sports Council" (CYSC)
was responsible for the coordination, construction and development
of the Wagon Wheel Park complex. This volunteer group
works with the Saddleback Valley School District to coordinate
the activities on multiple locations through out the community.

In 1997, 1999 and 2000 Trabuco Canyon Little
League
hosted District 55's 9/10 year old All Star Tournament.
In 1998 we hosted the District 55 Tournament of Champions. In 2006 we hosted the District 68 Major All Star Tournament as well as the Division Tournament.

2007 will be a great season. Trabuco Canyon
Little League
is very lucky that it has many dedicated
people that want to develop a top notch program for the children
and young adults in the community. We continue to look for
new ways to make this program better, this web site is one
example. You can help make it great by contributing to the
League, with your time, your positive attitude and a desire
to help your children do the best they can while having fun
doing it.
